Paul J Jensen, MD
Family Medicine
About Me
“It’s about the people, not about the process.” That was Dr. Paul Jensen’s comment when asked what motivated him to become a physician. Dr. Paul noted that although the process of delivering quality medical care is vital and requires constant education, it takes drive and personality to care for and communicate with all types of people.
While attending medical school to pursue a career in anesthesiology and working as a community pharmacist, Dr. Paul came to realize how much he enjoys interacting and connecting with his patients. It was at that time he decided to switch his specialty because he felt more suited to family practice than any other medical specialty.
Dr. Jensen received his Medical Degree in 1997 from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and completed his Family Practice Residency at the Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa Family Practice Medicine Residency Program in 2000. His practice includes obstetrics as well as family practice. He is currently Medical Director for Howard County Emergency Medical Services. Dr. Paul has been on the medical staff at RHSHC and the Cresco Medical Clinic since August of 2000.
Whether it is delivering a newborn baby, in what he refers to as “the most amazing of miracles”, providing treatment for illness or injury, or the privilege of caring for a Hospice patient, to Dr. Paul, being a physician “is all about making a difference in a person’s life”.
Dr. Jensen and his wife Jayne live in rural Cresco. He enjoys spending his free time riding motocross, playing bass guitar, welding in his shop, and running the sound system for local theatrical productions.
