About Me
Rebecca earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Allen College in 2012 and has worked as a nurse for the last eight years in Intensive Care and the Emergency Department at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. Rebecca decided to pursue her nurse practitioner degree because she wanted to help patients improve their health and stay out of the hospital. "I love being able to connect with patients and their families," says Rebecca, "I enjoy helping patients achieve their health goals and manage acute and chronic disease." Rebecca earned her nurse practitioner degree from the University of Iowa and completed her doctorate project on improving mental health screening for college students. She recently moved to Cresco and enjoys spending free time with family, baking sourdough bread, hiking, and traveling.
Rebecca completed her clinical rotations for her nurse practitioner degree in rural communities across Iowa and fell in love with providing rural healthcare. Rebecca is the main medical provider at the Elma Medical Clinic. When asked about this role, she said "I love the relationship I can build with my patients and the entire community. I love the strong sense of community that has made Elma Medical Clinic a reality! Patients should have the care they need close to home. I am so excited to get to provide easier access to the residents of Elma and the surrounding community."
