Project Life - Wellness Screening Program

Project Life is a screening program put together by HCHS to help people know their risk factors related to cardio-vascular disease.

 Cardiac and Vascular Screens include:

  • EKG
  • Blood pressure
  • BMI (body mass index)
  • Cholesterol and blood sugar check
  • Stop Bang Screen
  • COPD Assessment
  • Carotid artery screening
  • Abdominal aortic aneurysm screening
  • Peripheral artery disease screening
  • One-on-one result consultation/education with HCHS Health Coach

What should I expect?

Carotid Artery Screen – You will receive an ultrasound of the neck that looks for plaque build-up.

Peripheral Artery Disease Screen – A quick and easy screen using blood pressure cuffs on your upper arms and ankles.

Abdominal Artery Screen – An ultrasound of the abdominal area screening for the presence of an aneurysm.

Why Wellness?

  • Wellness screens are convenient and low cost.
  • They are easy to schedule and don't need a doctors order.
  • They are safe and accurate in detecting your risk factor for cardio-vascular disease.
  • It is cash only; we don't bill your insurance company.
  • You own your results. We will not keep copies in your medical chart.
  • If your results show you have a risk factor, we encourage you to see your doctor and can make an appointment for you at any of our four HCHS clinics before you leave.
