About Us

Hansen Family Hospital is a municipally-owned Top 20 Critical Access Hospital located in the community of Iowa Falls. We provide Hardin County and the surrounding communities with local healthcare services and critical care. We are fully supported by the revenues of the services we provide, as well as private donations from generous contributors throughout Hardin County. We do not take in tax revenues of any kind. For more than a century, our organization has built a legacy of promoting healthy living. Our physicians, nurses and employees strive to improve the health and quality of life of all those entering our doors.

Our mission: "To inspire wellness and provide compassionate healthcare" is supported by our vision "To be the innovative leader in rural healthcare". The excellence we have achieved has been passed down through charitable-minded citizens, beginning with E.S. Ellsworth in 1902 and continues today through the generosity of the Jeff Hansen Family and the many families, individuals and businesses who inspire us all in through a spirit of innovation and healing for the next century.

In 2014, we opened a brand-new hospital at 920 South Oak Street in Iowa Falls, Iowa. This new hospital is a symbol of our community's partnership and commitment to providing healthcare to the greater Hardin County area for many years to come.  In 2023, we completed renovations on our Emergency Services Department and an expansion of Iowa Falls Clinic to improve safety measures and better accommodate patient needs.  Healthcare is an ever-evolving field and we continuously strive for ways to better meet local medical needs and serve our community.
