Care For Yourself
Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program
All women over 40 should have an annual mammogram, clinical breast exam, and a pap smear. These are important tests that can help you detect a cancer early when it is very treatable. If you do not think you can afford these screenings you need to enroll in the BCC program at Hancock County Health System.
This program provides no cost mammograms and pap smears to women that meet age and income guidelines. You can have private insurance and still qualify. If you have Title 19 or Medicare Parts A & B you do not qualify for this program. It is available to women ages 20-65.
