Speech Therapy

The profession of speech pathology is devoted to the study, prevention and management of communication disorders. The speech pathologist at HCHS conducts speech, language, cognitive and/or swallowing evaluations, screenings, follow-up evaluations, second opinions of programming, and individual therapy.

Speech-language pathologists provide services to populations ranging from infancy to adult.

Our Speech Language Pathologist, Kristina Klemz, holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed in the states of Iowa and Minnesota. She is a trained provider for:

Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding children 12-months to five-years-old and children with feeding issues on the autism spectrum; and
Parkinson Voice Project: Speak Out. The Speak Out program is a two-part voice program aimed at helping individuals with Parkinson Disease maintain and regain their speaking skills.
