Sports Medicine
Sitting on the sidelines with an injury is frustrating for athletes. Our Sports Medicine program can help athletes at all levels avoid injury, or if one occurs, rehabilitate them quickly and safely.
Our team of physical therapists work towards returning injured athletes to their sport as quickly as possible. Although the sports medicine program is designed for athletes, our therapists bring the same level of medical care, personal service and high-tech equipment to patients of all ages.
Our Technology
We have therapists on staff that have obtained certification in Applied Functional Science (AFS) through the Gray Institute. AFS is a treatment approach toward rehabilitation and improving a patient's body as a whole. With AFS, we look at the body through chain reaction biomechanics. We promote techniques that allow you to efficiently and effectively return your body's movements to the maximum potential.
Our therapists also are able to use video analysis software to provide visual feedback on the way your body is moving with specific activity. For example, we can videotape someone's golf swing and the software allows us to upload the video and analyze the activity motion by motion. We are then able to recommend appropriate exercises and techniques that will ensure proper movement in the activity to reduce risk of injury.
